Forex copy trading: reconcile source and follower accounts
Match fictional source operations to follower quantities, rejections and costs without claiming one-to-one performance.

Choose a named source, not a marketplace average
Copying links a particular source account to a particular follower arrangement. Preserve account identities, broker symbols and the exact settings version. A marketplace name can describe useful infrastructure while saying nothing about which seller is suitable. A review should not award one return or loss rate to a whole catalogue of unrelated strategies.
Product documentation describes copying and configuration mechanisms. It does not demonstrate that the reviewer subscribed, that a named follower remained connected or that all source operations were reproduced. Keep those observations absent until their actual account and operation records exist.
Match identity before comparing prices
Map source operation identifiers to follower operation identifiers, with the rule for partial copies and later resynchronisation. A similar currency pair and time alone can be ambiguous if several operations occurred. Retain intended quantity, accepted quantity, execution time and actual fill. Rejected or missing operations are part of the reconciliation, not rows to omit because they complicate a growth graph.
Manual follower positions require a separate origin flag. Do not attribute their gains to the source or treat their interference with account settings as a provider outcome without evidence. A change in allocation can alter quantities even when the underlying source instruction is unchanged.
Separate economic and operational gaps
First calculate each account's actual-price gross result under its own quantities. Then examine execution differences, separately booked costs and configuration choices. If the follower trades half the source quantity, a smaller cash result is not all slippage. If an order is rejected, its operational state is not a made-up negative fill.
A managed hosting arrangement can support a copying process without a personal computer staying on. Its credentials, permissions, operation logs and failure handling still need inspection. This guide does not deploy a copier or ask for account access. It provides the comparison design only and does not suggest a local unattended production fallback.
Finish the ledger before calculating an imitation claim
Keep source-only, follower-only and matched operations visible. An exact source-to-follower ratio needs consistent boundaries and cash-flow treatment. A subscription cost can be included as a separately declared expense, but it does not fix missing orders or make the account series complete.
A meaningful consumer conclusion might be that a platform supplies inspectable histories while the chosen seller and follower path remain untested. That is a useful boundary, not a failure to invent a score. Recheck official settings for the specific terminal and product rather than assuming all brokers support an identical copying contract.
Completed fictional case
Fictional source holds 20,000 units through a 15-pip actual-price move at 2 account units per pip, earning 30 gross. Follower holds 10,000 units through 12 pips at 1 per pip, earning 12 gross, then pays 1 commission for 11 net. At follower size, the source price path would have produced 15 gross: 3 units are an execution-path difference and 1 is cost. A second rejected follower order remains rejected, not an invented fill.
| Record | Represented finding | Boundary |
|---|---|---|
| Source operation | 30 gross | 20,000-unit assumption |
| Follower operation | 12 gross / 11 net | Different size and price path |
| Unmatched operation | Rejected | Not inserted into realised fill arithmetic |
